Today was a day where both Amanda (my wife) and I were glad we’ve been doing deadlifts as part of our program. I probably deadlifted about 35 noble firs before she finally settled on one. Then we had to hoist that bad boy up onto the roof of my car, then hop it onto the stand, then carry it into the house. Not to mention the deadlifting of the couches that needed to be done. Every year we bring a tree into the house we have to rearrange all of our furniture which isn’t the lightest stuff in the world (reclining sofas).
The point to all of this…the deadlift is the most functional of exercises and yet I see so few trainees and fitness enthusiasts using it as part of their programs. Use it, train with it, get better at it. It will help you in more ways than one.
